March 19: Call for GG Proposals Opens

The Global Gathering (GG) brings together defenders working at the intersection of rights and technology. We will begin accepting proposals for programming on March 19th.‍

The link to the open call will be shared with all approved GG attendees via email. For this reason, make sure to submit your GG application as soon as possible to avoid delays.

We have begun working on programming earlier this year in order to coordinate more pre-event and morning activities, and ultimately strengthen the GG's impact.

What We Look For in Proposals

GG has a unique design that prioritizes building trust among participants, and tackling urgent tech/digital challenges impacting civil society, defenders, and journalists on the local, regional and global levels. We look for programming that addresses real needs on the ground and helps advance shared goals;  improve skills;  create collective knowledge; and/or support both the mapping out and mobilization of networks around current and emerging challenges.

In addition to the 2026 themes, we will also be using collaborative programming to foster topical hubs in the following areas:

  • Spyware response

  • Secure communications

  • Organizational Security

  • Circumvention Technology

  • LGBTQIA+

  • Regional Conversations

If you have already received your approval to attend the GG, but have not received the proposal submission form, please reach out to gather@digitalrights.community
